We have careers WITH dogs, though lets have a look at careers FOR dogs.  When searching for the top careers for dogs, in position, these are the rated top 5.  It’s even a thought to have the idea of your dogs life planned and in mind, even before they are born. Incredible hey.

1. Guide Dogs
Let’s start with our #1 career for dogs.  A Guide Dog career is held with great esteem.  What you’ll most likely already know is that guide dogs are specifically trained to lead the blind.  Usually a dog trained to guide is a Labrador and commonly seen as the lighter haired, though black and chocolate ones are used too. Labradors have a particular sense.  This is why they are chosen for blind people.   In fact Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds are also used. 2. War Dogs
War dogs are just that – dogs bred to help in times of War.  Let’s have a look at what type of breed is used for this type of task German Shepherds, Belgian Sheepdogs, Doberman Pinschers, Collies (farm type, with medium length coat), Schnauzers (Giant), Airedale Terriers, Rottweilers, and positive crosses of these breeds. Mainly German Shepherds as you can imagine.  It doesn’t appear that the dogs actually get a wage for this type of work and not even the owners.  It’s more likely that the dogs themselves are bred into this line of work.  There’s more info here in Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogs_in_warfare3.Therapy Dogs
Therapy dogs help improve your health.  The Labrador (which is a breed that can be used for most types of work) is most commonly used in this role.  Though you can train any dog to provide support to you and others. Therapy Dogs are sometimes called ‘Comfort’ dogs and usually live at home.  They can also visits various types of settings, like a retirement home or day care etc.  https://tdn.org.uk/

4.Herding Dogs
Herding dogs are sheep dogs.  These dogs as you most likely already know are used to herd sheep.  So, the most likely breed to use here is an Old English sheep dog.  A herding dog is also known as a stock dog, shepherd dog, sheep dog and working dog.  As you would guess these dogs are usually found on a farm.  5. Doggy Stars
Dogs that work a movie set are treated similar to that when they are with a trainer.  So, a dog in the acting world would work a set with the actor to get used to the environment and form a strong bond.  This will help the dog focus on the actor rather than their trainer within any given scene.  Treats apparently help with focus too.  https://dogsoncamera.com/
